Existing Homes Alliance calls on government to take urgent action on finance for retrofitting
Existing Homes Alliance members have jointly written to the Chancellor urging him to use the April 2009 budget as an opportunity to stimulate a green retrofit programme of the UK’s existing housing stock. The letter to Alistair Darling asks for more upfront capital for people to pay for energy efficient improvements to their homes, a large-scale training programme in energy-efficient building skills, tax incentives and a cut in VAT on property refurbishment.
